EXPERIENCED DRUG – ALCOHOL – MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELORS

Ron Cipriano is the “Johnny Appleseed” of substance abuse IOP treatment in Jacksonville, FL. He has been instrumental in implementing the “Recovery Dynamics” treatment model in several well known Jacksonville drug and alcohol treatment organizations.

In 2001 he started with the intensive outpatient program (IOP) at Ten Broeck Hospital on Beach Blvd. Next came the IOP program  at Wekiva Springs Center on Salisbury Rd where he also worked training counselors in the “Recovery Dynamics” treatment model. Ron is the only certified trainer in Recovery Dynamics in the Jacksonville area and has trained many counselors in how to utilize this treatment model. In 2003 he joined Breakthroughs Counseling off of San Jose and started their Intensive Outpatient Program.

In 2012, Ron partnered with a long-time friend, Stephen Johnson, who specializes in adolescent counseling to form Ron Cipriano & Associates Counseling. For more information on our Treatment Philosophy, click here.

 

Our Team

Ron Cipriano – MS CAP –Partner: Ron has more than 24 years of experience in substance abuse counseling. He has a Masters Level CAP (Certified Addictions Professional). Ron has seen more than 20,000 patients in the Jacksonville area. He is one of the most experienced addiction counselors in Jacksonville. Some of Ron’s specialties include individual and group addictions counseling, drug replacement therapy, counselor instructor and trainer in the Recovery Dynamics treatment model, court ordered DUI evaluation and out of state DUI evaluations.

 

 

 

Stephen Johnson – LMHC, MS ;CAP, LPC – Partner Stephen has more than 26 years of experience with substance abuse and mental health. He is a Licensed Mental Health counselor and a Masters Level CAP (Certified Addictions Professional). Stephen specializes in adult and adolescent IOP, outpatient counseling, mental health counseling, crisis intervention and dual diagnosis.

 

 

 

 

 

Susanne McKelvey – MS CAP, LMHC Susanne is a certified EMDR therapist, has a Master’s Degree in Counseling and is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. She has more than 30 years of experience with substance abuse and family & group counseling. She specializes in family and co-dependency counseling as well as individual and group mental health counseling. She is trained in EMDR techniques which are used to treat trauma, anxiety, depression and grief. Susanne also specializes in counseling those both before and after gastric bypass procedures and providing gastric bypass assessments. She accepts Select Blue Cross Blue Shield, Mayo Clinic and Cigna Insurance only.

 

 

 

 

John D. Johnson – LCSW  John is a legendary counselor in the substance abuse field with more than 30 years of experience. He has a Master’s degree in Guidance and Counseling with Alcohol and Drug emphasis from the University of Wisconsin. John also is certified as a counselor in the Recovery Dynamics treatment model. John worked for the Department of Defense, counseling military members and their families on bases throughout the entire world. He has spent a lot of time counseling for PTSD and family/marital issues. John utilizes the 12 Steps in his life, and also in working with clients.  working for the Dept. of Defense, counseling military members and their families on bases all over the world. A good deal of his time was spent counseling for PTSD and family/marital issues. John utilizes the 12 steps in his life and in working with clients.

 

 

Teresa Halderman – LCSW

Teresa Halderman has more than 18 years of experience in Substance Abuse and Mental Health Counseling. She entered the field after completing treatment for her own addiction and has been an active member of a 12 Step Recover Program for more than 20 years. She developed a cutting edge program in Miami FL, to treat those with Substance Abuse and Mental Health issues together (dual diagnoses) and continues to provide these services as a main focus of her practice.

Having lived in New Mexico for 7 years, she is skilled in providing treatment to a diverse cultural population including LGBT individuals. Upon her return to Florida, she settled in the Jacksonville area where she continues to provide these services in an outpatient setting including driver safety and DUI counseling. She also specializes in counseling those seeking to discontinue drug/opiate replacement therapy. Teresa also does gastric bypass counseling both before and after the procedure.

 

 

Stephanie Cheryl Bosh – Drug and Alcohol Counselor, MCAP Stephanie has been in counseling for more than 25 years. She is the wife of a retired military veteran and has been an Ombudsman for the US Navy. Those experiences have broadened her cultural experiences and solidified her commitment to military families. Stephanie’s goal is to help and support those who are struggling with addiction or mental health issues so they are able to live a fuller and richer life. Some of her specialties include working with adolescents 12-17, adults, couples and families. She uses several counseling techniques including Mindfulness, 12-Step Based Recovery, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, seeking safety, moral reconation therapy and more.
